Recently there was an electrical fire in a Warwick Township home which was caused by a loose connection in the circuit breaker box. The circuit breaker was recently upgraded and replaced to allow for the addition of a central air unit. The loose connection was never found because the homeowner failed to apply for and receive an electrical permit from Warwick Township. If the homeowner had applied and received a permit, in all likelihood, the inspector would have found the loose connection and notified the homeowner prior to use.
This message is intended to notify Warwick Township residents that permits are designed to protect the resident from negligent workmanship.
